Accident Claims Life Of Okada Rider In Suame
A tragic accident occurred in Suame Maakro, Ashanti Region, where a trailer loaded with soya beans ran over an okada rider, killing him instantly.
The victim, believed to be 27 years old, was driving beside the trailer when a hook on the vehicle trapped him, dragging him under the wheels.
The incident happened yesterday, January 3, 2026, and has left residents in shock.
According to eyewitnesses, the trailer with registration GT-1963-13 was involved in the accident. ”
Residents are attributing the accident to the ongoing construction work on the road, which has made it hazardous for motorists, especially those on two wheels.
“This is not the first time we’ve seen dozens of accidents here, but this time around, we’re not lucky; a soul is gone,” a resident said.
“The ongoing construction work has rendered the road very difficult to ply, causing accidents. We hope they complete the work soon to avoid these accidents.”
