Global Supporters Of Asante Kotoko SC, Calling Gfa Over Swedru All Blacks Supporters Allegedly Attacked Members

PRESS STATEMENT

lMPORTANT NOTICE

The Global Supporters of Asante Kotoko SC wish to express our deep concern over the unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday’s evening in Swedru, where some sections of Swedru All Blacks supporters allegedly attacked members of the Asante Kotoko team at their hotel.

As a result of this incident, the club’s luxurious team bus had to be secured at the police station to prevent further damage and to ensure the safety of players, officials, and property. This development is alarming and unacceptable, particularly as this is the first time the club has experienced such an incident at a place of lodging before or after a competitive match.

Football is meant to unite communities and promote peace, not violence and intimidation. Acts of hooliganism threaten the safety of players, officials, and supporters, and tarnish the image of Ghana football as a whole.

We therefore strongly call on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ghana Police Service to act swiftly and decisively by:

Conducting a thorough investigation into the incident,

Ensuring the safety of the Asante Kotoko team and officials,

Bringing all perpetrators to justice

and also Implementing measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents

Asante Kotoko is a national asset, and the safety of all clubs, players, and officials must be treated as a priority at all match centres across the country.

We urge all our fans to remain calm, law-abiding, and to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship that defines the beautiful game.

Signed:

Deputy Secretary
