Tema Youths Protest Against The Selling Of Meridian Hotel To A Private Individual

The Tema Youths Association are protesting against the selling of Tema Meridian Hotel by an unknown private individual.

According to the president of the Tema Youth Association, Mr Abraham Adjei Tawiah they have met the Member of Parliament who is in the name of Hon Isaac Ashai Odamtten on two occasions on the selling of the hotel and on both occasions he tried convincing the youths to allow the project take place.

He added that, they are not going to sit idle for the project to continue. Mr Abraham highlighted on the need for a project that will benefit the whole community and the nation but not to the interest of an individual.

He is therefore calling on the President to intervene since the land itself it has a historical and cultural background.

Some of the protesters also revealed some historical background concerning the land and how it will be impossible for anyone to have access to it and not to talk of doing something in the person’s own interest.

They are pleading with the government to release the lands to them for peace sake.
