Mankessim Market Set For 24-Hour Economy Transformation As MCE Urges Traders Cooperation

Mfantseman municipality Mankessim, Central Region – The Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah known as mfantseman KK has called on the Mankessim Traders Association and local authorities to embrace the government’s ambitious 24-hour economy initiative.

The MCE emphasized that this program, spearheaded by President John Dramani Mahama, aims to foster national development through new economic opportunities.

In an interview with Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, Hon. Acquah urged all associations and authorities within the Mfantseman Municipality to “humbly accept” the 24-hour economy market initiative to boost trading activities in Mankessim.

This significant project is slated for completion within 12 to 18 months.

The development will feature a new market complex with 320 lockable stores and numerous attached stalls, designed to enhance the trading experience.

The MCE highlighted Mankessim’s market as one of the top two in the country, underscoring the potential of this upgrade.

The initiative is expected to create a more vibrant and accessible trading environment for all.

During the engagement It’s great that people are recognizing the good work of MCE and the government, but it’s also super important that they’re raising concerns.

People are worried about who’s occupying space in the 24-hour economy market and want proper arrangements made.

There are questions about how much land the municipal assembly has registered, as that seems to be causing some issues with the market land.

The idea of traders having a separate place to move their goods is being brought up, which would definitely help keep the 24-hour economy market buzzing without anyone sleeping on the job.
