Impounded Illicit Drugs Due To Improved Takoradi Habour Security- Port Security Manager

The Takoradi Harbour Security Manager, Naval Captain Michael Duvor, has attributed the interception of 500 boxes of illicit drugs generally referred to as RED concealed in two containers deemed to be containing fans on 30th December 2025, to the stringent security measures and the port’s determination to detect undeclared goods to raise the needed revenue for the state.

Meanwhile the Western and Central Customs Sector Commander, Assistant Commissioner Walter Blankson who supervised the inspection of the containers in an interview told our reporter Nana fynn details of how and why the container has been impounded and warned importers who have the intention to ship illicit drugs and uncustomed goods through Ghana’s Ports that they are ready for them.
