Fire Guts Six (6) Rooms At Asante Akyem Praso
A devastating fire on Friday, 15th January 2026, has swept through a six rooms house located at Asante Akyem praso, popularly known as Kwahu Praso Asante line in the Asante Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
All occupants, who are currently left with nothing, estimated their losses to be in excess of a million cedis.
Cause of the fire is yet not known. However, the Assembly Member of the Area, Hon. Daniel Ntiamoah aka (Hon Kofi Tailor) recounted the incident report to Angel FM/TV Oheneba Siaw said, after appearing the scene realize the degree of the inferno placed a call to the Nkawkaw Fire Service who later told him there is no Fire Truck to assist the situation.

He also called to Abirem Fire station which will not help due to the distance from the Abirem to Akyim Asante Praso, Nkawkaw and Mpraeso fire Tenders are all faulty who can not assist to curb the degree of the fire.
He therefore called on the government to provide them a fire apparatus since they are now having a fire station at Juaso the Municipal Capital.
Some of the volunteers who spoke with the media explained how devastated the incident was, which has caused huge damage to the victims.
They also recounted how they suffered to turn the fire off from blazing.
A tenant who woke up at the dawn due to the heavy shouts from other neighbours expressed how she has lost everything, including personal belongings to the fire, including her monies, to thank God for healing mercies for her.
