Central Region Chiefs Calls For International Airport Not Airlift In Region,Cites Available Land

Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VII, President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, has called on the government to build a full international airport in the central region, rejecting the previous administration’s plan for a limited airlift facility.

He highlighted available land in the Komenda area, stating that construction could proceed immediately if the government commits.

This call was made during a Regional Investment Roadshow organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in Cape Coast, which brought together stakeholders, including Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Members of Parliament (MPs), and traditional leaders.

Madam Rita Aquah, Public Relations Officer for GIPC, explained that the regional investment roadshow tour has created more jobs and opportunities for regions, has brought 70% of projects to the nation since last year to date.

She assured that GIPC will continue to support business people in the region.
