The Bibiani Police Command has arrested Adam Smith, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Youth Organiser who also served as the Youth Employment Agency Coordinator for Bibiani.

He is accused of colluding with illegal miners (galamsey operators) to release their seized excavators.

The equipment had been impounded nearly a year ago by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Forestry Commission.

Speaking to the media, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Sebastian Obeng, confirmed the arrest.

He said he received a call that some individuals had towed away three excavators and were returning for a fourth one.

Upon hearing this, he alerted the police, leading to the intervention and arrest of those involved.

He further reassured the general public that the NDC government does not tolerate corruption.

He emphasized that the law will be enforced without fear or favour, and if the suspects are found culpable, they will face the full consequences.
