Npp Primaries 280 Suspended Delegates Threaten To Cause Mayhem If Barred From Voting

About 280 suspended delegates in Agona West Consistuency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have threatened to cause mayhem if they are prevented from participating in the party’s parliamentary primaries scheduled for Saturday.

The delegates were suspended during the 2024 general elections for allegedly supporting an independent parliamentary candidate.

Speaking to Angel TV reporter Nana Kojo Asare, the aggrieved delegates expressed strong dissatisfaction with the National and Regional leadership of the party, describing the suspension as unfair and unjust.

According to them, their continued exclusion from the primaries could spark unrest and disrupt the smooth conduct of the election.

They have therefore appealed to the party leadership to urgently lift the suspension to ensure peace, unity, and credibility in the internal electoral process.

Meanwhile, the leader of the suspended delegates, Mr. Kofi Banfo, has called on the party leadership to allow all 280 affected delegates to vote, warning that failure to do so could affect the conduct of the primaries.

End.
