Assin Dompim Residents Chant “No Ken, No Vote” As They Rally Support For Kennedy Agyapong

Some residents of Assin Dompim, the hometown of Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, have openly rallied behind the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential aspirant, chanting “No Ken, No Vote” just 72 hours ahead of the party’s primaries.
A total of 548 delegates are expected to vote at the Centenary Hall in Assin Central, out of the 214,812 delegates nationwide who will cast their ballots at 277 voting centres across all 276 constituencies and the party’s national headquarters.
The strong show of support swept through the predominantly farming community, cutting across both the young and the old, as residents appealed passionately to delegates to back Mr. Agyapong as the party’s flagbearer.
Residents described Mr. Agyapong as a devoted son of the soil who has instilled pride in the area and delivered tangible development over his more than two decades as Member of Parliament for Assin Central.
“In Assin Dompim, from cradle to old age, our hearts beat as one: No Ken, No Vote. He is the son of our soil who has turned pride into progress for over two decades. Delegates should make him our flagbearer,” they declared.
Ante Abena Tankwa, a leader of traders in the community, praised Mr. Agyapong’s humanitarian efforts, citing donations such as streetlights, sewing machines, tools for artisans, cash support for market women, and vehicles that have benefited many residents.
According to her, Mr. Agyapong’s philanthropy extends beyond party lines, earning him admiration even among non-supporters for his boldness and commitment to community service. She therefore called for leadership that reflects his character and legacy.
For many others, despite criticisms leveled against Mr. Agyapong, they believe his enduring appeal lies in his contributions to security, health, education, and youth skills development, qualities they say outweigh all else.
