Traders Await Railway Cooperation Approval To Rebuild Adum Blue Light Market

The Adum Blue Light traders have been waiting for 11 months to rebuild their market, which was destroyed by a devastating fire.

Chairman Joseph Bobie Ansah revealed that the project is on hold, pending receipt of a consent letter from the Railway Cooperation, which owns the land.

“The land belongs to the Railway Cooperation, and we need their approval before we can start construction,” Ansah explained.

“We’ve completed the underground work, and the grounds are ready for the structure, but we can’t proceed without their consent.”

Ansan added that once the letter is received, the KMA will grant them a permit to commence building.

He refuted allegations that donations meant for the project were misused, stating that most of the funds are yet to be received and they have used some for the construction of the drains.

In other to move forward, the traders have started contributing their own funds to rebuild the market.

“We want to build this project ourselves,” Ansah said,

We are appealing to benevolent individuals for support.

He also pleaded with those who pledged assistance to release the funds to help complete the project.
