17-Year-Old Girl From Kenyasi Escape Kidnappers

A 17-year-old girl, Abigail Asera, from Kenyasi in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region, has escaped from her alleged kidnappers after going missing for over a week.

Abigail was reported missing on January 27, 2026, after she left home to visit her father.

Narrating her ordeal, she said she was given a lift by occupants of a private car while on her way to Hwidiem.

However, the car failed to drop her at her destination.

According to her, the four men in the vehicle covered her mouth with a white handkerchief and later abandoned her in a bush.

She disclosed that the suspects threatened to kill her if she refused to cooperate, claiming they intended to take her out of the country.

While in captivity, Abigail said she met seven other children who had also been kidnapped.

On February 5, 2026, she managed to escape together with one boy.

Her father, Issaka Abdul, confirmed the incident and expressed gratitude for her safe return.

Meanwhile, the Kenyasi District Police Command has launched investigations into the case.
