88.8% Of Oda Central Market Stores Distributed To Owners- Oda Municipal Chief Executive

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central, Solomon Kusi Brako, has announced that the new Akyem Oda ultra-modern market complex, inaugurated by President Akufo-Addo over a year ago, will soon open to the public.

He confirmed that 88.8% of the shops have already been allocated to their original owners.

Mr. Brako also denied claims made by the MP for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, on Asampa FM’s Ekosii Sen that the shops were given to market women in Asamankese and Akwatia, calling it a lie.

The Birim Central Municipality has set up a committee to oversee the distribution of stores at the Akyem Oda ultra-modern market, inaugurated by President Akufo-Addo over a year ago.

Despite early challenges, 88.8% of the shops have now been allocated to their original owners.

Speaking on Asampa FM’s Ekosii Sen, the MP for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, claimed that the market shops were given to market women from Asamankese and Akwatia, implying that the distribution didn’t follow the original plans for the complex.

In a direct rebuttal, MCE Solomon Kusi Brako dismissed the allegations as “blatant lies,” insisting that the distribution of the stalls was handled properly, with priority given to the original owners.

He added that the new market, aimed at boosting local businesses and infrastructure, will soon open and benefit the Birim Central Municipality.

As the opening date nears, residents and traders are excited about the new market complex.

They praise the committee for ensuring a transparent and smooth distribution process, expecting the modern facilities to improve their trading experience.
