Dawn Inferno Destroys Four Vehicles At Kronum Goil In Kumasi.

Four vehicles have been destroyed following a fire outbreak at the Kronum branch of GOIL Filling Station in Kumasi in the early hours of Friday.

The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m., involving a Nissan Urvan bus, a Kia Pregio vehicle, and two Pragya tricycles that were parked near the station.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to Sompa News said the Kia Pregio reportedly began emitting thick smoke moments before the fire broke out. The flames subsequently spread to nearby vehicles and extended to a motor park close to the filling station.

Residents credited the swift intervention of the station’s security guard and some youth in the area for preventing what could have escalated into a major disaster.

According to them, fire extinguishers at the station were quickly deployed, while others fetched water to help contain the flames before the situation worsened.
Fortunately, the filling station itself was not affected due to the timely response.

Some residents suspect that an electrical fault in one of the vehicles may have triggered the blaze.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, specifically from the Bohyen Fire Station, later arrived at the scene to fully extinguish the fire and prevent further damage.

No casualties were recorded. Authorities say investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
End.
