MCE’s Deep Dive Into Mfantseman’s Healthcare Frontlines.

The commitment to robust healthcare in the Mfantseman Municipality took center stage today as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) embarked on an intensive tour of key health facilities.

The day’s itinerary included a thorough inspection of the Saltpond Municipal Hospital, followed by focused visits to the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compounds located in Ankaful, Hinii, and Kuntu.

This vital exercise is a cornerstone of the MCE’s proactive initiative to gather unfiltered, first-hand accounts of the daily realities and challenges confronting our diligent healthcare professionals.

By walking the wards, examining equipment, and engaging in direct conversations with the staff, invaluable insights were gained into their operational hurdles and the specific areas demanding immediate attention and resources.

“Hearing directly from our health workers is crucial,” the MCE emphasized during the tour.

“Their dedication is the backbone of our community’s well-being, and understanding their needs on the ground allows us to advocate more effectively for the support they deserve.”

The MCE extended a firm assurance to the hardworking medical teams across the Municipality:

“Your concerns have been heard loud and clear.

We are committed to ensuring these issues are communicated with urgency to the relevant authorities.

It is my firm resolve to collaborate closely with all stakeholders, from government agencies to community leaders, to fortify our healthcare infrastructure and elevate the standard of care for every resident of Mfantseman.”

The medical superintendent of Saltpond Municipal hospital Dr Moses Wireko has registered his displeasure against lack of health facilities affecting the hospital.

Saltpond Municipal hospital is the second oldest hospital in the central region, but the hospital is currently facing lack of hospital facilities like Ambulance, montuary including hospital beds.

According to the medical superintendent of Saltpond Municipal hospital Dr Moses Wireko, the absent of Ambulance, montuary and inadequate hospital beds are affecting their work as health workers.

Speaking to Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, angel tv news reporter, the medical superintendent of Saltpond Municipal hospital Dr Moses Wireko says lack of security at the hospital including CCTV cameras is another major challenges comforting the hospital.

He has therefore appealed to the Municipal chief executive for Mfantseman Eric Stanley Acquah to come to their aid at the hospital

Some nurses also lament over equipment and lack of security needed to boost them work with heart in the municipality.
