Salaga South MP Inspects GSFP Caterers’ Training In East Gonja.

On Monday, 9th February 2026, Hajia Ibrahimah Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency, joined Hajia Fati Forgor, National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), to inspect a training session organized for caterers in the East Gonja Municipality.

The inspection formed part of a nationwide capacity-building initiative introduced by the Ghana School Feeding Programme to equip caterers with practical skills aimed at improving the nutritional value of meals served to school children.

The training emphasizes strict adherence to the approved food menu, which provides a structured guide to ensure consistency, balance, and quality in meal preparation across beneficiary schools.

Special attention is also being given to the use of locally sourced food items and spices to promote healthy eating habits while supporting local farmers and boosting the local economy.

During the visit, Hon. Hajia Ibrahimah Mohammed commended the leadership of the National School Feeding Secretariat for what she described as a timely and strategic intervention.

She urged participating caterers to fully embrace the guidelines and best practices shared during the sessions, stressing that compliance is crucial to achieving the Programme’s objective of providing nutritious, hygienic, and well-balanced meals that enhance the health, growth, and academic performance of school children.

She expressed confidence that the initiative would significantly contribute to strengthening and repositioning the Ghana School Feeding Programme to better fulfill its mandate.

As Member of Parliament for Salaga South and Vice Chairperson of the Gender, Children and Social Welfare Committee of Parliament, Hon. Hajia Ibrahimah Mohammed reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the welfare, development, and future of children.
