Gbetsile Chief Threatens Protest Over Ptolonged Water Shortages, Demand Action From Ghana Water Limited.

The Chief of Gbetsile, Nii Amankwah Sune I, has threatened to mobilise residents for a demonstration against Ghana Water Limited over persistent water shortages in the community.
Addressing residents at the 10th Annual Thanksgiving Ceremony of Gbetsile, the visibly frustrated chief lamented that although major pipelines pass through the area to supply water to other communities, Gbetsile itself can go for several months without pipe-borne water.
According to him, the prolonged outages have severely disrupted daily life, forcing residents to depend on costly water tankers and sachet water, even as they continue to receive monthly water bills.
He stressed that “Water is life and must not be politicised,” describing the situation as unbearable for both himself and his people.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Kpone Katamanso, Samuel Tetteh Quarshie Morton, acknowledged the gravity of the situation.
He assured residents that he would join the chief and other stakeholders in engaging Ghana Water Limited in the coming days to seek a lasting solution.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Kpone Katamanso, Joseph Tetteh (Joe T) also addressed concerns about the poor state of roads in the area.
He disclosed that contracts have been awarded for road works and indicated that contractors are expected on site soon.
