Sokoban New Site Residents Protest Over Poor Road, Cite Rise In Armed Robbery.

Residents of Sokoban New Site in the Asokwa Municipality in the Ashanti region are up in arms over the deplorable state of their road, which they claim has led to a surge in armed robbery cases.

The poor road condition has not only made it difficult for them to access basic amenities but also created a haven for robbers who take advantage of the area’s isolation.

The residents are also suffering from the health impacts of the dusty road, with many experiencing respiratory problems and headaches.

The situation has gotten so bad that some residents are being forced to relocate, with one resident lamenting that his entire family has left due to the unbearable conditions.

The residents claim that the police are unresponsive, often citing the poor road as an excuse for not attending to distress calls.
“Are we not part of Ghana, why will we all die due to dust?” one resident asked angrily.

They revealed that the road has been abandoned by contractors for over six years, with no signs of improvement.

The residents are calling on the government to intervene and fix their road, as well as deploy a police patrol team to curb the robbery menace.

They’re warning that if their pleas fall on deaf ears, they’ll be forced to take drastic measures to get their voices heard.
