Ramadan Assin South NDC Chairman Supports Muslim Communities With Food Items.

The Assin South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Thomas Cobbina, popularly known as Star Baby, has donated assorted food items and other relief materials to the Muslim community in the Assin South Constituency of the Central Region to support members during the holy month of Ramadan.

He said the gesture was intended to assist Muslims in the constituency as they observed the period of fasting and prayers.

The items donated included bags of sugar, cartons of milk, boxes of Lipton tea, cartons of This Way Choco, Ablution Kettle (Buta), and Sleeping Mats, collectively valued at several hundred Ghana cedis.

Presenting the items to leaders of the Muslim community, Mr Cobbina appealed to the beneficiaries to accept the donation in good faith and remember the nation in their prayers during the Ramadan period.

He particularly urged them to pray for President John Dramani Mahama and his administration, so that the government could deliver on its mandate and improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.

Mr Cobbina noted that Ramadan was a period when Muslims required support and encouraged individuals and organisations to extend similar assistance to Muslim communities.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim community, the Assin South Chief Imam, Alhaji Saeed Shaiba Yussif, expressed gratitude to Mr Cobbina for the gesture and appealed to other benevolent individuals to support Muslims during the Ramadan period.

He advised Muslims to sustain the discipline and moral values observed during Ramadan even after the fasting period, stressing that Ramadan should serve as a guide for righteous living throughout the year.

The Chief Imam also appealed to the government to consider supporting Muslims in the constituency with Hajj slots.

The Assin South Zongo Coordinator and Assembly Member for Assin Amoabeng, Hon. Sadique Aidoo, appealed to the government to establish more Arabic schools in the constituency and improve facilities in the existing ones.

He explained that the poor condition of some Arabic schools posed challenges for Muslim students, particularly those who attended non-Arabic schools.

End.
