Stop Abusing Apprentices With House-Chores And Punishments….Masters Told.

The Eastern Regional Coordinator for the National Apprenticeship Program, *Emmanuel Asante Ofori*, has urged Masters under the National Apprenticeship Program to stop abusing apprentices with house chores and other punishments to enable them acquire the needed skills from the training.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony of 45 Hand Sewing Machines, 9 Industrial Sewing Machines, and 9 Knitting Machines to 50 Apprentices and 10 Masters at Somanya,he noted that most apprentices are seen being punished by their masters in situations where they kneel down and carry stones, which he believes should be stopped as it’s an outmoded practice.

According to him, some apprentices are loaded with house chores by their masters, hindering many from acquiring needed skills for their future.

He therefore urged all apprentices to be obedient to their masters to enable them achieve their aim from the National Apprenticeship program.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Yilo Krobo, Francis Akumatey Addo, thanked H.E John Dramani Mahama for their share of the National Apprenticeship Program, which he believes is a game-changer for the youths in the Municipality.
