Residents And Elders Bemoan Bad Road Networking At Kwasiho.

Residents and Elders at Kwasihu in the Kwahu East district of the Eastern Region is crying over the bad State of their road network.

The residents expressing extreme frustration, often described as “crying out,” over the deplorable state of road networks in their area.

These complaints are primarily focused on the negative impact on local economies, health services, and daily life.

The Elders has bemoaned the total neglect of road infrastructure in their community, despite the area contributing significantly to national development through agriculture.

They highlight that bad roads impede economic growth, hinder the transportation of farm produce, and cause severe health risks, particularly for pregnant women and those needing emergency care.

According to them, the NPP led Nana Addo Administration awarded the road to a certain contractor who started constructing the bridge linking the Akwasihu -Nkawkaw main highway but has stopped the halfway bridge done leaving the bridge as death trap for drivers and passengers.

Their appeal comes after a recent fall into the halfway bridge by a moving vehicle, making them agitate for government immediate intervention to curb the situation.

 

A unit Committee Chairman, Chairman Mr Godfred Sackey a.k.a Okatakyie who spoke with Angel TV /Fm Oheneba Siaw said, late JK Siaw formerly of Tata Brewery constructed the road for them and successive government has destroyed them and has not made any effort to maintain them which is causing health risk.

Reacting to the bad State of the Road, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Samuel Asamoah said a comprehensive report has been conducted and sent to the Ministry of Roads and Highways awaiting confirmation, therefore calling on the people to exercise constraints on them.
