Inter-Schools Games Violence Aggrey Shs rejects Police Claims, Demands Apology And Students’ Names Deleted.

The Authority and Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in Abura Asebu Kwamankese District, Central Region,has denied claims that six (6) of their students assaulted a final-year student of Adisadel College after inter-sports activities at Cape Coast Stadium.

Our newsteam sighted an official statement published from the Ghana Police Service at Cape Coast-Kotokuraba District Police Station, dated February 24 last month.

“Police said the incident happened after the final day of an inter-colleges sports festival at Cape Coast Stadium. They alleged Aggrey students attacked Redford Owusu-Ansah, stealing his iPhone 17 Pro Max and GH¢1,400 in cash”.

Addressing a press conference at the school campus today, PTA Chairman Mr. Omar Bin Abdullah said the school’s checks showed no complaint was lodged by Adisadel College at the Cape Coast-Kotokuraba Police Station.

The Chairman added that none of the six named students has been arrested, and no student has been formally accused of assault.

Mr. Abdullah affirmed the school’s dedication to discipline and ethical conduct, adding that Aggrey SHS would fully cooperate with authorities to uncover the truth.

Therefore, school management rejects these unfounded accusations that tarnish the school’s and its students’ reputations.

Meanwhile,the school states the press release by Cape Coast-Kotokuraba Police Station is false.

We respectfully request the Ghana Police Service consider this accurate account to correct any misrepresentation in the original press release.

In-conclusion, PTA Secretary Alhaji Abdul-Basit for the avoidance of doubt, state that, the school authority and PTA demand an unqualified apology from the police and further steps to delete our students’ names from all records to avoid further action
