Elderly Woman Falls To Her Death In Uncovered Construction Pit At Ajumako Bisease.

Ajumako enyan essiam sub of Bisease, Central Region – A somber cloud has descended upon Ajumako Bisease following the tragic death of a 67-year-old woman, identified as Anti Ama, who succumbed to injuries sustained after falling into a dangerously deep, uncovered construction pit.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, has ignited serious concerns among residents about the safety standards and pace of ongoing construction projects in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam district.

The grim discovery was made by Uncle Ben, a local resident who was on his routine morning jog around 5 AM.

As he approached the construction site, which reportedly involves work on an abandoned bridge, he was met with a horrifying sight: a woman lying motionless within the pit.

“I was on my way to jog, and when I reached the construction site, I saw a woman lying in the pit. It was shocking,” Uncle Ben recounted to journalist Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah.

Immediately, Uncle Ben rushed to nearby neighbors to seek assistance.

Upon their arrival at the scene, a large crowd had already begun to gather, drawn by the commotion.

It was then that the victim was identified as Anti Ama, a beloved member of the community known for her regular walks to maintain her health and her frequent trips to the farm to gather firewood.

“Anti Ama always walked around for her health, or went to the farm early in the morning, around 5 AM, to search for firewood,” Uncle Ben explained, his voice heavy with sadness.

“We don’t know why she fell into the pit. It’s just a terrible accident.”

Uncle Ben did not mince words when expressing his frustration and anger towards the contractors responsible for the site.

“The contractor must speed up with the work and stop delaying the construction,” he urged.

“Leaving people, pregnant women, and children vulnerable to falling into these pits and dying is not good.

It’s a serious matter that needs immediate attention.”

His sentiments were echoed by other residents who expressed fears for their own safety and that of their families, especially children who might wander near the site.

The lack of adequate fencing, warning signs, or any form of protective barriers around the deep excavation has been a major point of contention.

The incident has sparked a wave of outrage and a strong demand for accountability from the construction company.

Residents are calling for a thorough investigation into the safety protocols (or lack thereof) at the site and for swift action to be taken to prevent any further loss of life.

Questions are being raised about whether proper safety assessments were conducted before work began and why the pit was left in such a dangerous state, especially during hours when people are typically active in the area.

The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam district assembly and relevant authorities are expected to address the community’s concerns and ensure that the contractors rectify the safety issues immediately.

The loss of Anti Ama serves as a tragic reminder of the paramount importance of prioritizing safety in all infrastructure development projects.

A family’s worst fears were realized this morning when Anti Ama fell into a construction bridge pit while on her way to her farm.

According to family members, lead by Madam Comfort say, Anti Ama typically leaves her home between 5:00am to 5:30 AM.

The incident, which occurred at dawn, has sent ripples of shock through the family and the surrounding area.

The family is questioning the safety protocols at the construction site, emphasizing that Anti Ama was simply following her regular routine.

“It was still dark, and she just… fell,” a distraught family member explained.

The incident has immediately raised concerns about the visibility and security of the construction area, particularly during early morning hours.

The family is seeking answers and reassurance regarding the safety of local pathways.

Some residents explain how they heard the death of the woman was shocked because they don’t know what actually happened to her falling into the that pit.
