2025 Homowo Shooting Effected Family Calls For Justice; Raise Concern Over Rampant Landuard Attacks.

Elders s and principal kingmakers of the Abola Apiam Tuanma Dynasty Family, custodians of the Omojour land Custodian in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, have raised serious concerns over what they described as persistent attacks by and shooting incidents by Sowutoum landguards targeting their people on the Omojour community.

Addressing the media at a press conference, the Ewe Chief of omojour, Togbe Mawukomakpor, lamented the increasing number of violent incidents against their members by landguards from Sowutoum.

According to him, several cases of attacks and shootings have been reported to the police, yet no significant action has been taken against the suspects.

He added that the family has video evidence capturing some of the alleged perpetrators, but no arrests have been made so far.

Citing specific incidents, Togbe Mawukomakpor explained that during last year’s Homowo Festival celebrations, a shooting incident occurred in which some members of the family were shot and left in critical condition.

He noted that similar incidents have happened again this year, but despite reports being filed with the police, the suspects are still at large.

He has therefore appealed to the police to act swiftly on the reports submitted, ensure justice is served, and protect the lives and property of people living on the Omojour land.

Meanwhile, some elders and kingmakers of the Abola Apiam Tuanma Dynasty Family also alleged that a number of their people were killed during the Homowo Festival, while others sustained critical injuries.

They are therefore calling on the police and other relevant authorities to conduct thorough investigations and ensure justice for the victims and affected families.

End.
