Feyiase Residents Raise Health; Business Concerns Over Dust-Ridden Sewua Hospital Road.

Residents of Feyiase in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti Region have expressed their resentment at the dreadful state of the Feyiase – Sewua Government Hospital road, raising concerns about the years of neglect by government.

Interacting with some of the locals who ply their trade along the stretch, they lamented about the dysphonia, throat irritation, and other health complications they have had to endure for the past four years, as a result of inhaling several tons of dust churned out by vehicles.
Seaking with media, they said , the dust virtually engulfs everything the sell – from food, and clothes to bags.
They noted that the situation has affected their business badly because their merchandise appear unattractive to potential buyers.
They have, therefore, appealed to government to ensure prompt construct of the road.

Making an observation about the general state of roads on the sidelines of a conference meeting with stakeholders of the Local Business Community and high-profile public officers at Wisconsin International University College, the District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe Assembly, Ing. Abdulai Hamidu, admitted that majority of the 62 communities in the district have long been plagued by terrible roads.

However, he noted that under President John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push Infrastructure Programme, the Accra-Kumasi Expressway project would see a major road uplift in the district.

Additionally, he shared insights on government’s flagship Kumasi Ring Road project, which would also see the construction of roads in the district.
He has, therefore, entreated residents to exercise patience as government commits to undertaking these initiatives.
End.
