Death Trap” Bridge Under Scrutiny NADMO And National Security Step In At Baifikrom.

Mfantseman Municipality’s Critical Baifikrom Bridge Undergoes Urgent Inspection Amidst Safety Fears
After months of anxious calls from residents, the safety of the Baifikrom bridge in the Mfantseman Municipality is finally receiving urgent attention.
A significant delegation, comprising officials from NADMO and National Security, was on-site on March 31st to inspect ongoing emergency works at the bridge, a vital connector for several districts.
Locals have long voiced their fears, describing the Baifikrom bridge as a “death trap” due to its alarming state of disrepair.
The structure, a crucial link between the Mfantseman Municipality , Ajumako District, and Assikuma Odoben Brakwa to Akyem Oda, has been a source of constant worry.
The danger isn’t limited to commuters; residents also regularly fetch water from directly beneath the unstable bridge, compounding the risks.
Today’s high-level inspection, led by the Mfantseman NADMO Director, Hon. Abeiku Nyankson, alongside National Security representatives, signifies a serious response to the community’s pleas.
The focus is now on the emergency measures being implemented to secure this critical artery and prevent a potential tragedy.
The Assembly Member of Baifikrom Electra area, Hon Nuredeen, is sounding the alarm about a critical bridge connecting Mfantseman and Ajumako Enyan Essiam to Oda-Nkwakaw.
The bridge is on the verge of collapse due to cracking, and if not addressed urgently, it could severely impact transportation and livelihoods in the area.
Hon Nuredeen is appealing to Mfantseman MP Dr Prince Arhine and Ajumako Enyan Essiam MP Hon Dr Ato Forson to take immediate action to repair the bridge.
The bridge serves as a vital link for communities, facilitating the movement of people and goods.
Some concerns have been raised such as the mankessim mfantsemanMunicipality, and Ajumako enyan essiam which has been severely damaged, prompting residents to call for government intervention.
Some Drivers also raise concerned about the dangerous of the bridge which makes them fear and panic to drive through from mankessim to Ajumako areas
