Chiefs Debunk Landguard Claims in Papatia Clash, Say Fight Was Over Woman.

Fresh details have emerged surrounding the violent confrontation at Papatia in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti Region, as traditional authorities have dismissed earlier claims linking the incident to landguard activities.

The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon, involved two individuals identified as Solomon and a man popularly known as Macho. Initial reports suggested the altercation was connected to ongoing land disputes in the area.

Speaking with media, Nana Akwasi Asare Nyansapor, the Otumfuor Sasaamo Panin Hene and Akyeamehene of the Nkwanta-Patase Divisional Council, firmly refuted those claims, describing them as inaccurate.

According to him, information gathered by the traditional council indicates that the confrontation stemmed from a disagreement over a woman, not land-related issues as widely speculated.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the suspect, Macho, allegedly attacked Solomon with a sharp object, inflicting severe injuries to his head and hand, leaving him in a pool of blood.

Swift intervention by community members led to the victim being rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested by the police and is assisting with ongoing investigations.

Nana Nyansapor has therefore called on law enforcement authorities to conduct thorough investigations into the incident to ensure justice is served and to prevent future occurrences.

The clarification by the traditional leadership is expected to calm tensions in the area, particularly following earlier concerns about possible landguard-related violence.

End.
