The Fight Against Galamsey Is Yielding Positive Results….. Deputy Minister.

The Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Hon. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, has paid a working visit to the Kwayanko Water Works to assess the turbidity level of water in the area.
Speaking to the media, the Deputy Minister noted that the fight against illegal mining (galamsey) is beginning to yield positive results, as the colour of the water is gradually improving.
She further urged Ghanaians to engage in responsible mining practices to help protect the country’s water bodies and natural resources.
The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in charge of Operations, Hon. Teddy Safori Addi, NADMO officials, and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West.
The team was received by officials of the Ghana Water Company at the Kwayanko Water Works.
Meanwhile, Hon. Teddy Safori Addi, Deputy Director-General of NADMO in charge of Operations, assured that the organisation will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that water bodies across the country are protected from illegal mining activities.
