Newmont Underground Mining Alliance Commissions GH¢600,000 Walkway For Asutifi North District Hospital

The Newmont Underground Mining Alliance (UMA) has commissioned a GH¢600,000 walkway for the Asutifi North District Hospital in Kenyasi in the Ahafo Region, as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Pharmacist Specialist, Dr. Patrick Appiah Larbi, on behalf of the Hospital’s Medical Superintendent, expressed gratitude to UMA for their continuous support.
He noted that the organization had earlier donated life-saving equipments to the hospital and has now added a modern walkway to improve accessibility.
The Chairperson of the UMA Social Responsibility Committee, Bertha Yeboah Asiamah, stated that the walkway project was undertaken to enhance comfort, safety, and accessibility within the hospital.
She added that the facility would significantly transform movement within the hospital and positively impact healthcare delivery.
Nana Adutwumwaa Mmrosah, the Manhemaa of Kenyasi No. 1, also expressed appreciation to UMA for the initiative. She further appealed for additional support, including the construction of an administration block, fencing, and pavement of the hospital premises.
