Despite Government Payment Announcement, Work On Suame Interchange Remains Slow — Artisans Lament.

Work has resumed on the Suame Interchange project in Kumasi following the government’s announcement last week that full payment had been cleared for the contractor, Rango Construction.
The payment was expected to accelerate progress on the long-delayed project, raising hopes among residents and business operators within the Suame enclave. Indeed, workers have returned to site and some level of activity has resumed.
However, artisans and residents at Suame Magazine, particularly those operating close to the interchange, say the pace of work has seen little to no improvement compared to previous months.
According to them, despite the financial clearance meant to ease constraints, construction activities remain sluggish, with minimal visible progress on the ground.
The Suame Interchange project is considered a critical infrastructure development aimed at easing traffic congestion in Kumasi and enhancing commercial activities within the Suame industrial hub.
Residents and stakeholders are now calling on the contractor and relevant authorities to expedite work to minimize the prolonged inconvenience and economic disruption caused by the delays.
While work is ongoing, many say urgent steps must be taken to ensure the project meets expected timelines and delivers its intended benefits to the people of Kumasi.
