Gomoa Kumbe Odikro Warns Of Possible Violence Amid Chieftaincy Dispute, Calls On President Mahama To Intervene.

The Odikro of Gomoa Kumbe in Kasoa of the Central Region Nana Okoboban Kow Tenyi II Popularly known as NANA K.B. has issued a stark warning of potential bloodshed as tensions escalate over an ongoing chieftaincy dispute in the area.

Speaking at a press conference, the Odikro called on President John Dramani Mahama and Inspector-General of Police Christian Yohuno Tetteh to intervene urgently to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

According to the Odikro, the dispute has been exacerbated by political interference. He accused the Member of Parliament for Kasoa and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency of fueling tensions in the community.

He further alleged that a campaign coordinator linked to the Kasoa MP has been enstooled as a rival Odikro of Kumbe, a development he described as illegitimate and provocative.

On his part, the Omankrado of the Kumbe Nana Prempeh Abeho-adze I warned that failure by authorities to step in promptly could lead to violence, stressing the need for swift action to restore order and uphold traditional authority in the area.
