Communters Bare The Heat As Sataso – Ejura Road Bridge Broken After Heavy Downpours.

A rainstorm has destroyed a section of the Sataso road, cutting off a key transport link between Ejura, Mampong and Kumasi, with passengers and vehicles from northern parts of the region stranded after a bridge collapsed.

The damaged stretch has disrupted movement for commuters travelling from Ejura, Yeji, Atebubu and Prang, as well as others connecting from northern communities through the route towards Mampong and Kumasi.

The collapse has effectively blocked one of the main corridors linking the northern sector of the Ashanti Region to its central and southern parts, leaving travellers stranded on both sides of the broken bridge.

Transport operators and passengers have been unable to continue their journeys, with no immediate alternative route reported in the affected area.

Some passenger in an interview with Atinka News reporter, Sofoba Kwame Afrifah shared their worries over the broken bridge.

Reacting to this, the MCE for Mampong, Hon. Yakubu Yussif, said the assembly authorities will provide an emergency road for commuters as Local authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the extent of the damage or emergency repair plans.
