Residents Cry For Help Over Unlawful Demolition Of Building Structure At Odorkor – Busia Junction.

Some Residents at Busia junction a suburb of Odorkor in the Ablekuma North municipal have accused the Assembly of unlawfully demolition of stores and other structures within the municipality.

According to reports, the Assembly Taskforce allegedly demolished a store and renovated structure at Busia Junction without prior notice to the owner or court order.

Speaking in an interview on behalf of the victims, Mr. Andrew Martey Kabu, stated that the building, which serves as a supermarket store, was built by his late father about 30 years ago,
and due to increasing incidents of theft and armed robbery attacks in the area, particularly involving vehicles parked in front of the shop at night, the family decided to renovate one of the stores and convert it into a security post to accommodate a watchman.

But while the renovation works were ongoing, some men allegedly from the Assembly arrived at the premises and began demolishing the structure without presenting any official notice or demolition order.

Mr. Kabu further alleged that , since the perpetrators are been using their authority to intimidate residents in the area, they are calling on the Local government minister to intervene.

He has therefore appealed to the President to intervene and call the Assembly to order to prevent further harassment and intimidation of residents and business owners in the municipality.
