Aggrieved NPP Members In Tarkwa Nsuaem Demonstrate Over Alleged Imposition Of Executives.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency of the Western Region is facing growing internal tension as aggrieved party members staged a massive demonstration to protest what they describe as favoritism and the alleged hijacking of the party to serve the interest of one individual.
The demonstration brought together youths, former party leaders, some constituency executives, and founding members who played significant roles in establishing the party in Tarkwa Nsuaem.
Speaking to the media during the protest, Nana Sulley, convener of the demonstration, stated that he has been with the party since 1992 and has served as an executive in the constituency for many years.
According to him, the challenges within the constituency began when Hon. George Mireku Duker showed interest in contesting for the parliamentary seat.
He alleged that instead of allowing democratic internal elections to take place within the constituency, some executives were imposed through selection rather than election, a move he believes goes against the rules and democratic principles of the NPP.
Also addressing the media, Amporful Adu Nakaa, spokesperson for the aggrieved members, said the group has lost confidence in both the constituency and regional executives due to what he described as their failure to respond to several petitions submitted to them.
According to him, all attempts to seek redress through the appropriate party structures have yielded no positive response, forcing them to embark on the demonstration to draw national attention to their concerns.
A founding member of the party in Tarkwa Nsuaem, Auntie Hannah, expressed deep disappointment over the current state of affairs in the constituency. She said it was painful to witness the party they sacrificed to build being reduced to such a condition.
She appealed to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to listen to their grievances and intervene immediately to restore peace and fairness within the constituency.
Following the demonstration, the aggrieved members are calling on the National Executive Committee of the party to urgently intervene in the ongoing issues within the constituency and direct party executives to reorganize the polling station elections.
