Kenyasi No.1 Omanhene Commissions GH¢700,000 Classroom Block To Improve Education.

The Omanhene of the Kenyasi No.1 Traditional Council, Nana Osei Kofi Abiri, has commissioned a newly constructed educational facility worth GH¢700,000 for Kenyasi No.1 R/C Junior High School in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region.

The project comprises a three-unit classroom block, a library, a headmaster’s office, a staff common room and a store.

Speaking on behalf of the Omanhene during the commissioning, the Kyidomhene of the Kenyasi No.1 Traditional Council, Nana Ofori Acheampong, explained that the old school structure had become a death trap for both pupils and teachers, prompting the chief to fund the construction of the new facility.

He noted that Nana Osei Kofi Abiri places great importance on education and remains committed to supporting educational development in the community.

The Asutifi North District Director of Education, Mrs. Naomi Asantewaa, expressed gratitude to the Omanhene for his generosity.

She said quality education requires a conducive environment and stressed that the government cannot shoulder the responsibility of educational development alone, calling on other stakeholders to emulate the chief’s example.

The Catholic Bishop of Goaso Diocese, Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene, also urged individuals, organisations, and communities to support efforts to improve education instead of leaving the entire burden on the government.

The Ahafo Regional Head of Catholic Schools, Mr. Boakye Baafi Williams, commended the initiative and charged the school authorities to cultivate a strong culture of maintenance to ensure the new facilities serve future generations.
