Three persons, including the wife of a herbalist, have been arrested in connection with a suspected arson incident at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The residence, which also served as a clinic established by the 67-year-old renowned herbalist, Dr Felix Antwi Dankwa, was gutted by fire on the night of Monday, August 10, 2026, resulting in his death.
However, three other occupants, including Dr Antwi Dankwa’s wife, escaped the blaze unscathed.
Although the family is yet to officially comment on the incident, information gathered from a source close to the deceased suggests that Dr Antwi Dankwa had been involved in a tense marital dispute with his wife, who lived abroad.
According to the source, Dr Antwi Dankwa and his wife were at the Kasoa District Police Command on Monday, August 10, 2026, following reports that his wife had allegedly changed the ownership details of some of his assets.
The source said a brief altercation ensued between the couple at the police station, prompting the police to caution them and direct them to appear before a court on Tuesday, August 11.
Sources suspect that Dr Antwi Dankwa may have been murdered and the house subsequently set ablaze in an attempt to conceal the crime.
