Anyone Involved In Galamsey Activities Will Be Arrested, Regardless Of Political Affiliation — Berekum West MP.

The Member of Parliament for Berekum West in the Bono Region, Hon. Dickson Kyeremeh Duah, has warned that anyone involved in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, will be arrested and prosecuted, regardless of their political affiliation or social status.
He said being a chief, man of God, political party chairman, or holding any other position of influence will not shield anyone from facing the full rigours of the law if found engaging in illegal mining activities.
He made this pronouncement during the enstoolment of Nana Akosua Serwah Akoto as the Nsaneahemaa in berekum.
According to the MP, the measure is necessary to protect Ghana’s lands and water bodies from the devastating effects of illegal mining.
Hon. Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament for Berekum East, during the program, took the opportunity to counsel the newly installed Queen Mother.
He emphasized the importance of heeding the advice of her elders, fostering unity among families, and ensuring that her actions promote cohesion within both the family and the community.
He underscored the necessity of transparency as a means to facilitate togetherness and development, cautioning against any actions that may lead to division.
Nana Akosua Serwah Akoto, the newly enstooled Nsaneahemaa in Berekum, called on the entire family and the residents of Nsenia to support her reign in order to foster growth and prosperity.
