Enhance Our Salaries And Condition Of Service- Ashanti GBA President To Government

The Ashanti Regional President of the Ghana Bar Association, Lawyer Kwame Owusu Sekyere, has called on the government to enhance the condition of service for both judges and lawyers to relieve them of the challenges faced in line with their duty.

According to him, judges and lawyers are faced with a lot of challenges in terms of their salary and their conditions of service, which has led to them advocating for improved salaries through the government.

He emphasised the need for the government to give a listening ear to their plea and improve their salaries and bettee condition of service to relieve them of the problems faced in the course of their duty.

The President of Ashanti GBA continues that, since most people do not have a clear understanding or knowledge of how the law works, they sometimes challenges their credibility in terms of justice delivery which is very worrying to them.

“It very disturbing when some people usually made unjustifiable attacks on judges and lawyers during rulings or judgement when they failed to understand what the law states exactly” he stressed.

Lawyer Kwame Owusu Sekyere made this statement during the 43rd Martyrs Day Remembrance Service in honour of the three murdered High Court Judges.
