Parents Besiege WAEC Office In Kumasi Over School Placement System

Thousands of frustrated parents and students have overwhelmed placement resolution centres in Kumasi, including the KTI auditorium, seeking solutions to Senior High School placement challenges.
Many parents are upset because their children weren’t placed in their preferred schools, leading to long queues and tensions at the centers.
Some parents have even resorted to arriving as early as 3:30 a.m., only to find themselves far back in the queue.
The situation is becoming increasingly chaotic, with some parents clashing over school placements.
They’re calling on the government to intervene urgently, as their wards are set to start school on October 18, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Free SHS coordinator, Mr Hamza, in an interview with 7dsl Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah, disclosed that they are trying their best to rectify the situation at hand.
Some of the parents are causing the challenges because they are to go to the various schools and select the schools for their children, but they did not adhere to their advice.
