Chief Of Twifo Nyamebekyere Urges Support For STEM Education To Drive Community Development

Nana Kofi Akoi, Chief of Twifo Nyamebekyere in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region, has urged parents and stakeholders to embrace and support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education as a catalyst for community transformation.

He made this call during a homecoming event organized by the community to raise funds for the construction of an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) centre for the Twifo Nyamebekyere D/A Basic School, and to renovate six dilapidated classroom blocks.

The chief underscored the importance of modern educational infrastructure and digital literacy in shaping future-ready students and fostering a culture of innovation and academic excellence.

He stressed that investing in STEM is key to equipping the youth with relevant skills for today’s competitive world and unlocking the community’s long-term socio-economic potential.

Hon. Joseph Okanta, Assembly Member for the Paaso-Nyamebekyere Electoral Area, also appealed to NGOs and development partners to support the reconstruction of the community’s dilapidated Junior High School (JHS) block, emphasizing the urgent need for improved learning conditions for students.
