Minerals Commission, Bibiani Office Trains Small-Scale Miners On Responsible Mining Practices.

The Minerals Commission, in collaboration with the Atwima Mponua District Assembly, and the Small Scale Miners Association, Bibiani centre has organised a training programme for small-scale miners aimed at promoting responsible mining practices and safeguarding the environment.

The training was spearheaded by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ibrahim Issahak (popularly known as Action Man), together with officials from the Minerals Commission Bibiani Office.

The programme focused on modern and sustainable mining methods designed to enhance environmental protection and improve operational responsibility among small-scale miners.

Mr. Emmanuel Oppong Arthur, Bibiani District Officer of the Minerals Commission, encouraged all stakeholders to initiating these forms of training for small scale miners.

He noted that the programme is aimed at significantly to support miners in carrying out their activities responsibly and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

The training covered key topics including exploration techniques, best mining practices, mineral processing techniques, mercury use and abatement, and tailings management, all aimed at protecting water bodies and surrounding ecosystems

Hon. Ibrahim Issahak urged the miners to take the training seriously, and thanked the Minerals community for this initiative.

He again indicated that similar programmes would be organised periodically to strengthen responsible mining practices and improve environmental stewardship within the district.
