Atwima Mponua District Neglects Us!” – Tano-Dumasi Residents Cry Foul.

Residents of Tano-Dumasi in Atwima Mponua, Ashanti Region, are up in arms over the deplorable state of their community.

Despite being a farming hub with a nursing training school and a former sports minister, the town lacks basic amenities. “We’re crying out for help,” a resident said.

The poor road network is a major issue, forcing farmers to travel to Bibiani to sell their rice and vegetables.

The Tano Dumasi nursing training school is also suffering due to the bad roads. A market built by former President Jerry John Rawlings lies abandoned, overgrown with bushes.

“Just filling the waterlogged area with sand and stones can make the market functional, but no one’s willing to do it,” a resident lamented.

The community is also without a police station and an ICT centre for schools.

Residents are appealing to authorities to address these issues and bring development to their town.

The Assembly member Evans Ampofo Twumasi echoed these concerns, saying the community needs development and is not getting its fair share.

“It’s time the DCE Hon Ibrahim Issahak and MP Hon Seth Akoto come to our aid,” he said, urging authorities to address these issues and bring development to Tano-Dumasi.
