Tepa-Subrisu Community Appeal To Govt Over Threats To Community Mining Scheme.

The residents of Subriso, Mfante, Numasua, and surrounding areas in the Ahafo Ano North Municipal of the Ashanti Region are pleading for government intervention. The Mfante community mining scheme, commissioned in December 2021 employs 2,000 youth.

However, individuals claiming to be NAIMOS officials have allegedly sacked workers with gun AK 47 and using vehicles GE 7203-25 and GS 725-25, and are guarding Chinese nationals to mine the site

. The community alleges MCE Hon. Adusei Akwasi gave the site to Chinese nationals after taking money, and urges the government to investigate, citing pre-election promises by NDC officials to assist with documentation. The site is their sole livelihood.

Hon.Assembly member for Subriso electoral area,Hon.Innusah Maase, urged the government to intervene, he witnessed that the previous government with Nananom commissioned the mining site to help reduce unemployment.

Some residents also said their part of the alleges of the claiming appealed to the government to quickly intervene and help them with the necessary documentations
