57-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Mamponteng Months After Divorce.
A 57-year-old man identified as Francis has died by suicide in Mamponteng, in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region, months after separating from his wife.
The incident has left residents in shock and raised concerns about the emotional toll of separation on individuals who lack adequate support.
According to Assemblyman Yaminu Sulemana, a strong smell coming from Francis’s room raised concern among neighbors yesternight Upon checking, he was found hanging, with his body already in a state of decomposition.
The Mamponteng Police were called to the scene immediately, secured the area, and, with the help of residents, made arrangements for burial in line with local customs.
Mr. Sulemana said Francis had appeared visibly withdrawn and distressed since the divorce and was often seen alone.
He noted that while the community tried to check on him periodically, the depth of his emotional struggle had not been fully apparent until it was too late.
He described Francis as a quiet man who kept to himself but had not shown any indication that he was contemplating such an act. Francis is a hardworking man with three children
Police in Mamponteng have opened investigations into the incident as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death.
