Afigya Kwabre South DCE Rolls Out Parking Plan To Tackle Buoho Traffic, Demands Road Repairs.

The District Chief Executive of Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has moved to ease persistent traffic at Buoho by introducing a designated parking zone for commercial vehicles and renewing calls for urgent repairs on the damaged ECOWAS road.
Speaking during a district-led sanitation exercise at Buoho, Hon. Ankrah said the assembly had set aside a special parking area to stop commercial drivers from parking along the roadside, a habit she said was a major cause of congestion.
She added that the road’s poor condition was worsening the problem.
Riddled with open manholes and potholes, the stretch often damages heavy vehicles and slows traffic further.
As part of the ECOWAS road network, she stressed, it needs immediate attention to make it motorable and safe.
“The road needs urgent repairs to make it motorable,” she said.
The cleanup exercise drew strong participation from residents and traditional authorities.
Hon. Ankrah commended the turnout and urged residents to keep up good sanitation practices to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
While the District Environmental Health Analyst, Mr. Kwame Kusi Agyemang Badu, noted a marked improvement compared to last month’s exercise at Afrancho, which saw low turnout.
He attributed the change to enforcement measures, saying residents who missed previous cleanups were brought before the court of law.
He encouraged the community to sustain the momentum and make sanitation a regular habit.
