Ahafo Catholic Schools Head Raises Concern Over Teacher Shortage.

The Ahafo Regional Head of Catholic Schools, Mr. Boakye Baafi Williams, has expressed concern over the shortage of teachers in schools across the region.

Speaking at the commissioning of the newly built Kenyasi No.1 R/C Junior High School by the Kenyasi No.1 Paramount Chief, Nana Osei Kofi Abiri, Mr. Williams said the number of teachers currently available is far below what is needed to effectively teach students.

He appealed to Nananom to engage the appropriate government authorities to ensure more teachers are posted to schools in the Ahafo Region, noting that the current workload has become overwhelming for the existing teachers.

Mr. Williams also encouraged teachers to remain dedicated to their profession despite the challenges they face.

He further advised students to take their studies seriously and called on the district assemblies and education directorates to enforce by-laws that prevent school children from roaming the streets at night instead of studying.
