One Dead, Another In Critical Condition After Cargo Truck Runs Over Okada At Buduburam Hightway.

Okada rider has died while one other is in critical condition after a cargo truck reportedly ran over an Okada motorcycle at Budumburam in the Gomoa East District on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway.

The incident occurred when the Okada rider and his passenger were travelling towards Kasoa, while the cargo vehicle with registration number GN- 4199- 22 was heading in the opposite direction towards Cape Coast.

According to eyewitnesses, the cargo vehicle allegedly veered into the path of the motorcycle due to reckless driving, resulting in a collision that left the rider dead at the scene. The impact reportedly caused severe head injuries to the rider.

The passenger, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, was rushed to a hospital for medical attention, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Following the incident, residents in the area reportedly intercepted the driver of the cargo vehicle and handed him over to the police.

The driver has since been arrested to assist with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Eyewitnesses speaking to Opanyin Darko said, the Okada rider died on a spot while the passenger is in critical condition.
