The Shai Osudoku District mango farmers, known for its mango farms, is facing a dire challenge.

Farmers who invested time and resources into cultivating their crops are now struggling to sell them.

This has left many anxious and unsure of how to recover their costs.

We have plenty of mangoes ready, but no buyers. The fruits are rotting, and we don’t know what to do. All our efforts are going down the drain.

The farmers are calling for urgent intervention. They say they need better market access, buyer linkages, and government-backed solutions like processing plants or cold storage facilities to address the challenge.

Therefore, the president of the mango farmers association in the Shai Osudoku “DODOWA”. Rev Frederick Narh Nartey appealing to the government or private organizations that can support them with processing plants or connect us with buyers, it will make a huge difference. We can’t continue like this.

He added that, they need boreholes in the farms to water the mango trees, during this season the trees need more water to feed the fruits,” without the water the mango trees died, so calling on the government and other benevolence to come to their aid boreholes and buyers.

The farmers of Shai Osudoku remain hopeful that their call will be answered. They urge the government and stakeholders to act swiftly before their livelihoods are irreparably damaged.
