The protest was sparked by a 16-year-old boy’s report of being sodomized by a suspect identified as Enock Essel.

The timely police intervention saved the suspect from the angry mob. According to Kwame Tetteh, leader of the concerned youth, the alleged victim is experiencing underlying health issues due to the abuse.

The youth expressed frustration over what they perceive as inaction by authorities regarding homosexual activities in the community.

Some protesters claimed they distrust the police and demanded the suspect’s release to handle the situation themselves.

Meanwhile, the Central North Regional Domestic Violent and Victim Support Unit has confirmed the arrest of the suspect. They also stated that a medical form has been issued for the victim as part of the ongoing investigation.
