Assin Fosu: Police Foil Clash Between NDC Supporters And NADMO Director Over Alleged Theft Of Building Materials

A potential clash between NDC supporters and the NADMO Director of Assin Central was averted by the timely intervention of the Central North Regional Police Command.

The NDC youth had attacked the NADMO Director, Samuel Kwakye, and two others, accusing them of stealing 50 packets of roofing sheets, boxes of nails, and other valuable items meant for the Municipal Assembly.
The two individuals caught loading the items into a tricycle claimed they were assigned by the Assin Fosu Municipal NADMO Director to do so.
The police stepped in to calm the situation and summoned the NADMO Director and the accomplices to the police station for questioning.

In a surprising twist, Mr. Samuel Kwakye, the NADMO Director, explained that the items belonged to his wife and were stored in the District Assembly Warehouse for safekeeping. He insisted the items were 15 packets and not 50 packets as being circulated.
Hon. Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, Assemblymember for Assin Atonsu-Mempeasem, urged the disgruntled youth to remain calm and let the law take its course. He noted that many outgoing government appointees are looting government properties, emphasizing the incoming government’s responsibility to safeguard these assets.
